A Special Meeting with Six Tibetan Buddhist monks!!

TSSA will also be focusing on His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 75th birthday in 2010 by promoting His Holiness through the many films & talks we have on file. We have also invited six monks to visit South Africa to construct a sand mandala for World Peace. They will also travel to Cape Town & Johannesburg and further details regarding this will be sent to you in due course.

However, we are now focusing our efforts on promoting the Society, and as part of a membership drive we are offering something extraordinary to members and their friends. We are going to arrange a special get-together with the six monks at which you can qualify to receive a traditional Tibetan offering scarf (khata) personally presented to you by the Head monk together with a small portion of the sand from the dismantled sand mandala that will be constructed in Durban. You will also have a reserved seat at the final dissolution ceremony on the last day that will be open to the general public.

All paid-up Tibet Society members will be invited to attend the special function, but we are offering the traditional Tibetan offering scarf and a portion of the sand from the sand mandala to those members who introduce another member. In order to qualify for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as a paid-up member of the Tibet Society we would like you to introduce a new member to the Society. If your membership has expired you can certainly update it and you will still qualify as long as you introduce a new member. This offer is also open to anyone who would like to become a member of the TSSA and introduce another one. Out-of-town people who are unable to attend the get-together, but wish to receive a khata and some mandala sand, these will be posted to you.

This offer is open from now until the end of April. The monks are scheduled to arrive in May (subject to change).

We encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity.... under normal circumstances you would need to travel to India and other overseas destinations to experience this event and few people have been in a position to be offered personal encounters with monks & to receive such special gifts from them. A great idea for Xmas and as a gift for your friends... both you and the new member will qualify. Updated members and new members will receive their membership card that will give you access to the special evening event. (Details to be confirmed closer to the time).
